Ralton Australian Shares portfolio
The portfolio returned -0.43% for the September quarter, underperforming its benchmark, the S&P/ASX 300 Accumulation Index. Being overweight Energy added value, but this was offset by our overweight to Consumer Staples and being underweight Materials.
Ralton High Yield Australian Shares portfolio
Our overweight to Information Technology added value to the portfolio during the quarter, however this was offset by our overweight to Consumer Staples and underweight Materials. Key individual contributors for the portfolio for the period included IOOF Holdings, Lendlease Group and BHP Billiton.
Ralton Smaller Companies portfolio
Beach Energy, Ainsworth Game Technology and Worley Parsons all contributed to portfolio returns during the quarter, with Beach Energy +43.5%. New additions to the portfolio included Credit Corp Group, OFX Group and Viva Energy REIT.
Ralton Leaders portfolio
The portfolio lost 0.23% in the quarter, underperforming the benchmark by 0.64%. Being overweight Energy added value to the portfolio, offset by stock selection within Financials and our underweight to the resources heavy Materials sector.
